The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has successfully completed the final development trials of the ULPGM-V3 precision-guided missile. The missile was tested in both air-to-ground and air-to-air modes at the DRDO test range in Kurnool, using an integrated Ground Control System.

The ULPGM-V3 is mainly designed for anti-tank warfare, but it can also strike drones, helicopters and other aerial threats. Research Centre Imarat (RCI) acted as the lead laboratory, with support from other DRDO labs such as DRDL, TBRL and HEMRL.

The missile was integrated with unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) platforms developed by NewSpace Research and Technologies. Its production will be handled by Bharat Dynamics Limited and Adani Defence & Aerospace, reflecting India's push for self-reliance in defence manufacturing under Atmanirbhar Bharat.

For aspirants, the points to remember are the developer (DRDO), the lead lab (RCI), the test site (Kurnool), and the missile's dual anti-tank and anti-aerial role.
