On 25 April 2026, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) unveiled its Advanced Armoured Platforms at the Vehicles Research & Development Establishment (VRDE) in Ahilyanagar, Maharashtra. The unveiling included both tracked and wheeled variants of the new combat vehicles.
The platforms were presented under the leadership of DRDO Chairman Dr. Samir V. Kamat. They feature modern weapon systems, high-level ballistic protection, amphibious mobility, and a large share of indigenous content.
DRDO is India's premier defence research agency, functioning under the Ministry of Defence. The new platforms mark another step in strengthening the country's home-grown defence capabilities and reducing dependence on imports.
