Jasvinder Singh Takes Charge as Director (Strategic Project) of Hindustan Shipyard Limited
Retired Commodore Jasvinder Singh took charge as Director (Strategic Project) of Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL) on 1 May 2026. He will manage critical submarine projects at HSL, the Visakhapatnam-based shipyard that built INS Arihant.
Retired Commodore Jasvinder Singh assumed charge as the Director (Strategic Project) of Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL) on 1 May 2026. Before this, he served as Director (Strategic Project) in the Indian Navy.
He brings more than three decades of operational and technical experience, having worked on naval ships, submarines, DRDO facilities, and tri-service establishments. His academic background includes degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, and Defence and Strategic Studies.
In his new role at HSL, he will oversee strategic initiatives and manage critical submarine projects for the Indian armed forces. HSL is a defence public sector shipyard headquartered in Visakhapatnam and is known for building INS Arihant, India's first nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine.
