OSSC CGL Specialist Recruitment 2026 — 199 Posts

A total of 199 vacancies are spread across 16 specialist posts under various departments of the Government of Odisha. The vacancies are distributed across Unreserved, SEBC, SC and ST categories with women's reservation. Reservation also applies for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities, ex-servicemen and sportspersons. Transgender candidates are eligible to apply. The numbers are provisional.

• Qualification: Post-wise educational qualifications ranging from graduation to post graduation, depending on the specific post, as prescribed in the official notification.
• Age (as on 01-01-2025): 21 to 42 years. Candidates not claiming any relaxation must be born between 02-01-1983 and 01-01-2004. Category-wise age relaxation applies.
• Candidates must be Indian citizens and able to read, write and speak Odia fluently, with supporting proof.
• All posts are State Cadre posts; candidates may be posted anywhere in Odisha.

1. Visit the official OSSC website (ossc.gov.in).
2. New users register as NEW USER; existing users log in with their User ID and password.
3. Fill the application form and select the post options for which you are eligible.
4. Upload your degree certificates, mark sheets and other required documents.
5. Enter valid bank account details for the refundable examination fee.
6. Pay the fee online via the Odisha Treasury portal and submit before 11-07-2026.
7. Only one application is allowed per candidate.

Selection has three stages: Stage I is a Preliminary Examination. Stage II is a Main Written Examination (Technical Paper) plus a Computer Skill Test, qualifying at 50% marks where applicable. Stage III is Certificate Verification. The examination is conducted in OMR or computer-based mode, and a normalisation formula is applied if multiple question sets are used.

The Preliminary Examination covers Arithmetic (Class 10 level), Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning and Analytical Ability, General Mental Ability, Current Events and Computer/Internet Awareness. The Main Written Examination has a post-wise Technical Paper. All papers are in both Odia and English, except the language paper of the Main Examination.
