The Staff Selection Commission is conducting the Combined Graduate Level Examination 2026 to fill about 12,256 Group B and Group C posts across various ministries, departments, and organisations of the Government of India. Online applications are open from 21-05-2026 to 22-06-2026. Selection is through a two-tier computer-based examination.

Eligibility

Education: A Bachelor's degree from a recognised university by 01-08-2026. Some posts (such as JSO) need specific Mathematics or Statistics qualifications.

Age: Calculated as on 01-08-2026; age limits vary by post (see the official notification). The date of birth in the Matriculation certificate is treated as final.

Certain Inspector and Sub Inspector posts have physical and medical standards checked separately by user departments.

Application Fee

The fee of Rs. 100 is paid online through BHIM UPI, net banking, or Visa/Mastercard/Maestro/RuPay debit cards by 23-06-2026. The fee is not refunded, and applications without the required fee are rejected. The correction window fee is Rs. 200 for the first correction and Rs. 500 for the second, for all candidates.

How to Apply

  1. Generate a One-Time Registration (OTR) at https://ssc.gov.in or through the mY SSC mobile app; use Aadhaar-based authentication if possible.
  2. Complete and lock the OTR profile.
  3. Fill the Common Application Form, including a live photograph capture, and upload your scanned signature.
  4. Fill the examination module — choose three exam centres within the same region in order of priority.
  5. Pay the fee online by 23-06-2026, preview, and submit. Keep a printout for at least 3 years.

Selection Process

Selection is through a two-tier computer-based examination (CBE). Tier-I has objective MCQ questions in English and Hindi (except English Comprehension), with a negative marking of 0.50 mark per wrong answer. Tier-II is held in Paper-I, Paper-II, and Paper-III; negative marking is 1 mark per wrong answer in Paper-I sections and 0.50 mark in Papers II and III. The Computer Knowledge Test and Data Entry Speed Test sections are qualifying. Marks across shifts are normalised. There is no re-evaluation of scores.
