BPSC 70th CCE Final Result Declared: Shraddha Pandey Tops with 593 Marks
BPSC has declared the final result of the 70th Combined Competitive Examination, with Shraddha Pandey topping the merit list at 593 marks. The exam, held for 2,035 posts, was marked by paper-leak allegations and protests over mark normalisation. The Patna High Court had dismissed petitions seeking cancellation of the exam in March 2025.
The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has officially declared the final result of its 70th Combined Competitive Examination (CCE). The announcement was made by BPSC Chairman Ravi Manubhai Parmar at a formal press conference. Shraddha Pandey secured the top position in the merit list with a total score of 593 marks. Shashank Gaurav and Ayush Bijoy both scored 592 marks and were placed second and third respectively.
The 70th CCE was conducted for a total of 2,035 vacancies. Out of candidates who cleared the preliminary stage, 5,401 were called to appear for the interview round. The preliminary examination began in December 2024, and the mains (written) examination was held between April 25 and April 30, 2025, spread across 32 centres in Patna. The mains result was declared on December 16, 2025, after which the interview round took place leading to the final merit list.
The examination had been under significant scrutiny since its conduct in late 2024. Allegations of a paper leak at one centre in Patna prompted the Bihar government to order a re-examination for over 12,000 candidates who had appeared at that specific centre. The exam as a whole was conducted across 912 centres statewide, with approximately 20,034 candidates appearing overall. The government denied the paper-leak allegations but initiated the re-examination as a precautionary measure.
Protest movements emerged around the exam, particularly over the use of 'normalisation of marks' — a statistical method applied when an exam is held in multiple shifts to equalise the difficulty levels across shifts. Critics questioned the fairness of this process. Several petitions were filed in the Patna High Court seeking cancellation of the examination, but the court dismissed these petitions in March 2025, allowing the process to continue.
For aspirants preparing for state public service examinations, this development is important on multiple counts. It demonstrates how state PSC exams are conducted, how controversies around paper leaks are addressed administratively and judicially, and how normalisation is applied in multi-shift competitive exams. Understanding the structure and timeline of the BPSC CCE — preliminary, mains, and interview — is relevant for state PCS aspirants across India.
