Krishna Mohan Appointed Interim General Secretary of Ram Temple Trust Following Resignation of Champat Rai

The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust appointed Krishna Mohan from Hardoi as interim general secretary on 2026-07-05, following the resignation of Champat Rai and trustee Anil Mishra. The decision was announced during a special meeting of the Trust, which accepted the resignations in compliance with its internal constitution. The move comes amid ongoing scrutiny over alleged irregularities during the donation counting process, which triggered public concern and internal review.

Krishna Mohan, a retired Indian Forest Service officer and former employee of the Atomic Energy Department, holds a degree from Lucknow University. He has served in senior administrative roles in Maharashtra and has since been actively involved in social service in Hardoi. His appointment was confirmed by Trust Treasurer Govind Dev Giri, who stated that Mohan has been entrusted with additional responsibilities until a permanent replacement is selected.

In his statement, Mohan acknowledged systemic flaws that allowed misconduct to occur and pledged to strengthen internal controls and accountability mechanisms. He emphasized that any individual found responsible for lapses would face appropriate action under law. He also expressed deep sorrow over the damage to public trust and committed to restoring confidence through transparency and reform. The Trust leadership described the situation as emotionally painful and said the meeting was convened early due to the gravity of the circumstances.
