Maharashtra Approves Artificial Intelligence Policy with ₹10,000 Crore Investment Target
Maharashtra has cleared an Artificial Intelligence Policy with a ₹10,000 crore investment target. It plans AI Excellence Centres, Innovation Cities and green-energy steps under the MAJESTIC scheme.
Maharashtra has approved a new Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy with a planned investment target of ₹10,000 crore. The policy is aimed at speeding up technological growth in the state and creating new jobs in the technology sector.
Under the policy, the state plans to set up AI Excellence Centres and Innovation Cities. These are special hubs where companies, start-ups and researchers can work together on research and development in artificial intelligence. The idea is to turn ideas developed in laboratories into real products and services.
The policy also links technology growth with environmental care. Green energy steps are planned under a scheme named MAJESTIC, with support from large financial institutions. Goals such as large-scale tree plantation have been added so that fast development does not harm the environment.
For exam aspirants, the key point is that a major Indian state has tied a large public investment to artificial intelligence, jobs and sustainability together. It shows how state governments are now treating AI as an engine for both the economy and employment.
