Nagaland observed the International AIDS Candlelight Memorial on 17 May 2026 at the College of Nursing in Kohima. The memorial was held under the theme “Light the Legacy: Remember. Advance. Act.”
The event honoured people who lost their lives to HIV/AIDS-related illnesses and showed support for those currently living with HIV. It stressed the need to reduce social stigma, improve access to healthcare and encourage joint action by governments and civil society groups.
