Quad Foreign Ministers to Meet in Delhi
Quad Foreign Ministers (India, US, Australia, Japan) meet in Delhi, hosted by EAM Jaishankar, for the first time in nearly a year.
The Foreign Ministers of the Quad — India, the United States, Australia, and Japan — are set to meet in New Delhi, the first such meeting in nearly a year. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will host US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong, and Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi at Hyderabad House, and the ministers will also call on the Prime Minister.
The Quad, or Quadrilateral Security Dialogue, is a grouping of four democracies focused on a free, open, and rules-based Indo-Pacific. It cooperates on areas such as maritime security, critical technology, supply chains, climate, and health.
The meeting comes amid a complex global backdrop, including shifts in US-China engagement and tensions in West Asia, making coordination among the four partners significant for the Indo-Pacific region.
