RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra Inaugurates New CAFRAL Campus in Mumbai
RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra inaugurated the new Mumbai campus of CAFRAL, an RBI-promoted centre for financial research and learning whose Governing Council is chaired by the RBI Governor.
The Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Sanjay Malhotra, inaugurated the new campus building of the Centre for Advanced Financial Research and Learning (CAFRAL) in Mumbai. CAFRAL is an institution promoted by the RBI.
In his address, the Governor congratulated CAFRAL on moving to its own premises and stressed the importance of continuous learning, capacity building and in-depth research to meet the demands of the financial sector. CAFRAL's stated vision is to be a global centre of excellence in banking, finance and macroeconomics, contributing to policymaking and building leadership capability across India's financial sector.
CAFRAL works through two verticals — a research vertical that produces policy-oriented studies, and a learning vertical that provides capacity-building for senior financial-sector professionals. It is guided by a Governing Council chaired by the RBI Governor. The inauguration was attended by RBI Deputy Governors, Executive Directors and senior officials, along with directors of allied institutions such as NIBM and the College of Supervisors.
