Chikkamagaluru District Court Recruitment 2026 for 61 Peon, Typist and More

A total of 61 vacancies are offered across five categories: - Peon: 47 posts - Typist: 6 posts - Stenographer Grade-III: 5 posts - Process Server: 2 posts - Typist-Copyist: 1 post

Category-wise reservation is provided separately for each post as per Karnataka reservation rules.

Qualification (varies by post): - Peon: passed SSLC or equivalent; must be able to read and write Kannada. - Process Server: SSLC or equivalent; a valid driving licence is preferred. - Typist-Copyist: second PUC or equivalent with a Junior Grade certificate in Kannada and English typewriting. - Typist: second PUC or a three-year Diploma in Commercial Practice with a Senior Grade typewriting certificate in Kannada and English. - Stenographer Grade-III: second PUC with Senior Grade Shorthand in Kannada and Senior Grade Typewriting certificates in Kannada and English.

Age: - General: 18 to 35 years (with a one-time relaxation of 5 years) - Category 2A/2B/3A/3B: 18 to 38 years (+5 years relaxation) - SC/ST/Category-1: 18 to 40 years (+5 years relaxation)

Additional age relaxation applies for government employees, widows, ex-servicemen, armed forces personnel and persons with disabilities as per rules.

The fee is paid online through State Bank Collect using net banking, credit card, debit card or UPI. Demand drafts, cheques and postal orders are not accepted, and the fee is non-refundable.

4. Pay the application fee online through State Bank Collect (if applicable).
5. Submit the application before 11:59 PM on 28 July 2026 and save a copy.

Selection is through a multi-stage process combining a written/qualifying test, a skill or typing test, and an interview, depending on the post.

• Written / Qualifying Test: conducted for most posts as per the prescribed syllabus.
• Skill Test: for Typist, Typist-Copyist and Stenographer posts, a computer-based typing or shorthand test is held (for example, a 15-minute dictation for Typist-Copyist; shorthand dictation of 80 words per minute transcribed in 45 minutes for Stenographer Grade-III).
• Interview: shortlisted candidates are called for interview in a ratio of 1:5.
