Vacancy Details

A total of 78 Group C civilian posts are open across 10 categories, distributed category-wise (UR/OBC/SC/ST/EWS) with horizontal reservation for Ex-Servicemen and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities in select posts. The number of posts may change. A separate application and a separate Demand Draft are required for each post.

Eligibility

Education: Post-specific, ranging from Matriculation to a Bachelor's or Master's degree. Civilian Motor Driver applicants need a valid heavy vehicle driving licence and two years of experience. IT/technical posts (Networking Supervisor, Network Administrator, Hardware Administrator) need the prescribed degrees, diplomas, and certifications.

Age: 18 to 27 years for most posts, and 18 to 25 years for Multi Tasking Staff (Office & Training) and Technical Attendant (Printing Machine Operator), as on the last date of application. Age relaxation applies to reserved categories as per Government of India rules.

Nationality: Only Indian citizens may apply.

Application Fee

The application fee is paid only by an account payee Demand Draft of Rs. 100, drawn in favour of "DSSC Direct Recruitment 2026" payable at Canara Bank, DSSC Branch. The fee is non-refundable, and a separate Demand Draft is required for each post applied for. Applications without the prescribed Demand Draft are not accepted.

How to Apply

  1. Download the application form from the official DSSC website at https://www.dssc.gov.in. Open and fill it in Adobe Reader, type it in block letters, and take a colour printout. Handwritten forms are not accepted.
  2. Affix a recent colour photograph (white background) and your signature.
  3. Attach self-attested copies of Aadhaar, mark sheets, certificates, driving licence, experience and reservation certificates as applicable, the Rs. 100 Demand Draft, and a self-addressed 10x22 cm envelope with a Rs. 56 postage stamp.
  4. Submit a separate application for each post. Write "APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF ___" on the envelope and send it by post to: The Commandant, Defence Services Staff College, Wellington (Nilgiris) – 643 231, Tamil Nadu, within 21 days of publication in the Employment News.

Selection Process

Selection is based on a written test followed by a skill or physical test wherever applicable. Applications are first scrutinised for age, qualifications, documents, and certificates. The written test is objective and is set in English and Hindi, based on the minimum qualification for the post. Shortlisted candidates take the skill/physical test, both held at DSSC, Wellington. Biometric verification using the Aadhaar card is done at the examination. No travel allowance is paid for the test.
