Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA), Bengaluru

The Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA), Bengaluru, an autonomous national institution under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, is hiring Upper Division Clerks on a regular basis. Selected candidates will work at IIA headquarters in Bengaluru and at the institute field stations across India. The hiring is conducted through a written test followed by a qualifying skill test.

Eligibility

  • Education: Bachelor degree from a recognised university or institution.
  • Computer skill: Working knowledge of personal computer and MS Office.
  • Maximum age: 27 years as on the closing date. Standard relaxation for SC, ST, OBC and PwBD candidates as per Government of India rules.
  • All appointees will be covered under the National Pension System.
  • Selected candidates are liable for posting anywhere in India at IIA field stations.

How to Apply

  1. Go to the IIA recruitment portal and register with name and email address.
  2. Log in with the registered username and password to open the application form.
  3. Fill in personal, educational and experience details carefully.
  4. Upload a recent photograph, date of birth proof, educational and experience certificates, caste certificate (if applicable) and CV in a single PDF as required.
  5. Submit the form, take a printout and retain a copy for record.
  6. Government employees (Central, State, Autonomous, PSU) must additionally send a forwarding letter through proper channel within 30 days of the closing date to the Administrative Officer, IIA, Koramangala, Bengaluru 560 034.

Selection Process

Three stages:

  1. Screening of applications based on essential qualification. IIA reserves the right to shortlist on the basis of higher qualifications if the number of applications is large.
  2. Written test held in Bengaluru covering:
  3. English language and comprehension
  4. Logical reasoning and computer proficiency
  5. General awareness and current affairs
  6. Numerical ability (arithmetic)
  7. FR-SR, General Financial Rules, Income Tax, GST, Accountancy, Procurement of Goods and Services, GeM Rules, Leave Rules, CPP Portal, Contract and Inventory Management
  8. Skill test of qualifying nature. Marks are counted only to break ties.
