The Indian Army is inviting applications from unmarried male engineering graduates for the 144th Technical Graduate Course (TGC-144), with 30 tentative vacancies, for Permanent Commission. Vacancy Details

A total of 30 tentative vacancies are spread across the notified engineering streams. The numbers may change or be re-allotted as per organisational needs. Candidates not within the allotted vacancies of their stream may be offered a Short Service Commission (Tech) course, subject to eligibility.

Eligibility

Eligibility is checked as on the closing date of 11-06-2026 (age as on 01-01-2027).

Who can apply: Only unmarried male engineering graduates.

Age: Between 20 and 27 years as on 01 January 2027 (born between 02-01-2000 and 01-01-2007).

Qualification: A BE/B.Tech or equivalent degree in the notified engineering streams from a recognised Indian institution. Degrees from foreign countries are not accepted. The stream name on the degree must exactly match the application.

Application Fee

No application fee is mentioned in the official notification. Aadhaar number and the Matriculation certificate are required for registration. Candidates should check the official website for any updates.

How to Apply

  1. Visit the official Indian Army recruiting website joinindianarmy.nic.in.
  2. Click 'Officer Entry Apply/Login' and register (skip if already registered). Aadhaar and Matriculation certificate are mandatory.
  3. Under the dashboard, click 'Apply Online' and then 'Apply' against the Technical Graduate Course.
  4. Fill the form, convert any CGPA/grades into marks, and click 'Submit'. Submit only one application.
  5. No changes are allowed after the closing date. Carry original documents to the SSB interview.

Selection Process

Selection has several stages: applications are shortlisted on the basis of the cumulative percentage of marks in the engineering degree (stream-wise), followed by a five-day SSB Interview, a Medical Examination, the merit list, and finally the joining letter. The merit list is prepared stream-wise on the basis of SSB interview marks only. Selected candidates train at IMA Dehradun for about 12 months and are commissioned as Lieutenants.
