The Indian Navy is recruiting 60 candidates as Permanent Commissioned Officers in its technical branches under the 10+2 (B.Tech) Cadet Entry Scheme for the course beginning January 2027. There are 30 posts each in Mechanical Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering. Selected candidates undergo a four-year B.Tech course at the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala. Vacancy Details

A total of 60 Permanent Commission posts are open in the technical branches — 30 in Mechanical Engineering and 30 in Electronics & Communication Engineering. Based on merit during training, 7 candidates from the Mechanical Engineering stream may be moved to B.Tech in Naval Architecture & Shipbuilding at NCW, Kochi. Vacancies are tentative and may change as per service requirements.

Eligibility

Marital status: Only unmarried men and women may apply.

Education: Passed 10+2 with at least 70% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, and at least 50% in English. Candidates must have appeared for JEE (Main) 2026.

Date of birth: Born between 02-07-2007 and 01-01-2010 (both dates inclusive). The age band is fixed for all candidates.

Nationality: As laid down by the Government of India.

Application Fee

How to Apply

  1. Read all instructions carefully and enter your details exactly as in your Matriculation and Class 12 certificates.
  2. Enter your JEE (Main) 2026 Common Rank List (CRL) rank and your preference of branch.
  3. Upload the date of birth proof, Class 10 and 12 mark sheets, the JEE (Main) 2026 score card, and a passport-size photograph.
  4. Submit before 18-06-2026. The application is final once submitted.

Selection Process

Candidates are first shortlisted on the basis of the JEE (Main) 2026 Common Rank List. Shortlisted candidates attend an SSB interview at Bengaluru, Bhopal, Kolkata, or Visakhapatnam from September 2026. Those recommended undergo a medical examination as per the standards for the 10+2 (B.Tech) entry. The final merit list is based on SSB marks and medical fitness, and appointment is subject to police and character verification and availability of vacancies. Selected candidates train for four years at INA, Ezhimala, and the B.Tech degree is awarded by Jawaharlal Nehru University.
