Delhi Government Raises Salaries of Vocational and Samagra Shiksha Teachers
The Delhi Government approved higher salaries for over 1,100 Vocational and Samagra Shiksha teachers — Rs 38,100 and Rs 35,420 per month respectively — to support contractual educators and improve school education.
The Government of Delhi approved a major salary increase for Vocational and Samagra Shiksha teachers to strengthen the school education system and support contractual educators.
Under the revised structure, vocational teachers will now receive 38,100 rupees per month, while Samagra Shiksha teachers will get 35,420 rupees per month. The new pay brings these contractual teachers much closer to the salary levels of regular teaching staff.
The decision benefits more than 1,100 vocational teachers and educators who work in hundreds of Special Training Centres. These centres play a key role in helping school dropouts return to formal education.
Samagra Shiksha is a centrally sponsored, integrated scheme for school education that covers everything from pre-school to Class 12. By raising pay, the government aims to improve teacher retention, reduce financial insecurity, and provide better academic support to children being brought back into the formal system.
For exam aspirants, the key takeaway is the link to the Samagra Shiksha scheme and the role of Special Training Centres in mainstreaming out-of-school children.
