Educational qualification: The candidate must hold an M.Sc. in Geology, M.Sc. in Applied Geology, M.Sc. Tech in Applied Geology, M.Tech in Applied Geology, or an Integrated M.Sc. Tech in Applied Geology, with at least a Second Class (minimum 45% marks) from a University or Institution recognised by the Government.

Age limit (as on the date fixed in the advertisement): Minimum 21 years and maximum 38 years.

Age relaxation: SC/ST candidates get 5 years (up to 43 years), OBC/MOBC candidates get 3 years (up to 41 years), and Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) get 10 years.
