Vacancy Details
A total of 22 posts of Class-I (Junior Grade) Home Guards are on offer in the Assam Home Guards Services under the Home and Political Department.
Eligibility
Age: 21 to 38 years as on 01-01-2026, with upper age relaxation for reserved categories as per Government rules.
Qualification: A graduate degree in any discipline from a Government-recognised University.
Physical standards: Candidates must clear a Physical Efficiency Test and physical standards. Weight must be proportionate to height and age, and minimum distant vision must be 6/6 and 6/9 in both eyes without correction.
Nationality: The candidate must be an Indian citizen and a permanent resident of Assam, with a Permanent Resident Certificate or Employment Exchange Registration Certificate as domicile proof.
Application Fee
The application fee and processing charges are payable online during the application process. Applications without successful fee payment are treated as incomplete.

- Apply online only through the APSC recruitment website at https://apsc.nic.in.
- New users must first complete the One Time Registration with a valid email ID and mobile number.
- Log in and fill all mandatory details in the online application form.
- Upload documents in PDF format, and photograph and signature in the prescribed size.
- Pay the fee online and submit. Take a printout of the submitted form.
Selection Process
Selection involves a Physical Efficiency Test, physical standards check, a written test and an interview. Document verification is conducted at the interview stage. The detailed scheme is available in the official notification.
