The Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC) has released the revised Primary Test syllabus for the post of Assistant Director (Boilers), Class-II, under the Labour, Skill Development and Employment Department. The Part 2 (Concerned Subject) syllabus was amended on 24 June 2026. The Primary Test has two parts: Part 1 (General Studies, 100 marks, in Gujarati) and Part 2 (Concerned Subject - Boilers). Syllabus & Exam Pattern
The GPSC Assistant Director (Boilers), Class-II Primary Test has two parts.
Exam Pattern (Primary Test) - Part 1: General Studies. Medium: Gujarati. Total marks: 100. - Part 2: Concerned Subject (Boilers). This is the technical/subject paper for the post. The Part 2 syllabus was revised by the Commission on 24 June 2026. Candidates must download the detailed Part 2 syllabus from the official PDF on gpsc.gujarat.gov.in.

- Indus Valley Civilization, Vedic Period, Jainism and Buddhism.
- Contact with Central Asia and its consequences.
- Major dynasties of Ancient, Medieval and Modern India and Gujarat - rulers, administration, social, religious and economic conditions.
- Bhakti Movement and Sufism.
- Arrival of Europeans, British rule, the 1857 freedom struggle in India and Gujarat, 19th-century social and religious reform movements, India's independence movement, Indian revolutionaries in India and abroad.
- Contributions of national leaders in various fields.
- Post-independence India and Gujarat.
- Cultural heritage of India and Gujarat - art forms, literature, sculpture, architecture, music, dance.

Saint tradition of India and Gujarat; fairs, festivals, food, dress; museums, libraries; Gujarati theatre; tribal life; Gujarati literature; pilgrimage and tourist places.
