Eligibility

Educational Qualification (varies by category): - Agniveer (General Duty): Class 10 / Matric pass with minimum 45% aggregate and minimum 33% in each subject; Indian Gorkhas can apply with simple Class 10 pass - Agniveer (Technical): Class 12 / Intermediate pass in Science with Physics, Chemistry, Maths and English, minimum 50% aggregate and 40% in each subject - Agniveer (Clerk / Store Keeper Technical): Class 12 in any stream with minimum 60% aggregate and 50% in each subject; English and Maths / Accounts / Book Keeping in Class 10 or 12 with at least 50% - Agniveer (Tradesman): Class 10 pass for most trades; Class 8 pass for certain specific trades (Syce, Housekeeper, Mess Keeper, etc.) - Agniveer (Women Military Police): Class 10 / Matric pass with minimum 45% aggregate and 33% in each subject - Floor across all trades: Class 8 pass (Tradesman specific trades); the practical floor for the majority of openings is Class 10

Age Limit: - 17.5 to 21 years (born between specified date windows per recruiting year) - For Women Military Police 2027 intake: born between 01 Jul 2005 and 01 Jul 2009 - Widows of Defence Personnel who died in harness: upper age relaxable up to 30 years - No category-based age relaxation (Agnipath is an open-to-all entry scheme)

Physical Standards (vary by region and category): - Minimum height: 162 cm for Women Military Police; varies for other trades and regions - Weight proportionate to height and age - Chest expansion: minimum 5 cm - 4 cm height relaxation for candidates from North East, Gorkhas, Garhwalis, Ladakhis and recognised tribal areas

Other: - Only unmarried candidates are eligible; must not marry during the four-year engagement period - Engagement is for four years under the Agnipath Scheme; up to 25% may be considered for permanent enrolment thereafter - Bonus marks available for NCC certificate holders, sportspersons and wards of Service / Ex-Servicemen / War Widows - Candidate must be a citizen of India (or fall under categories specified by the Government)
