The Maharashtra Public Service Commission has announced the Group-C Services Main Examination 2025 for 1884 posts across five categories in various state departments. Vacancy Details

A total of 1884 posts are spread across five categories in different state departments. The vacancies carry full social and parallel reservation, including horizontal reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities. The numbers are provisional and may change as per court decisions on reservation and departmental needs.

Eligibility

  • Mandatory pre-condition: Only candidates who appeared in and qualified the Group-C Combined Preliminary Examination 2025 (result declared 04-05-2026) are eligible.
  • Qualification: Graduation, held by the last date of application (04-06-2026).
  • Age (as on 01-02-2026): Minimum 19 years, maximum 38 years for the General (Open) category. Relaxation applies for reserved categories as per Maharashtra rules.
  • Knowledge of the Marathi language is mandatory for all posts.
  • For Clerk-Typist and Tax Assistant posts, a valid typewriting qualification is required.

How to Apply

  1. Confirm you have qualified the Group-C Preliminary 2025 and completed KYC on the MPSC portal.
  2. Visit the MPSC online portal (mpsconline.gov.in) and log in or register.
  3. Open Advertisement No. 014/2026, check eligibility and click Apply.
  4. Select the post options you wish to be considered for.
  5. Upload all required documents in the prescribed format.
  6. Pay the fee online or by challan and submit the application before 04-06-2026.
  7. Save a copy of the submitted form.

Selection Process

Selection is through the Main Written Examination (400 marks, two papers) with negative marking of 25% (one-fourth) per wrong answer. A post-wise, category-wise merit list is prepared. For the Clerk-Typist post, candidates must submit an appointing-authority preference order. Document verification follows shortlisting, and a physical and medical examination applies to certain posts.

Syllabus & Exam Pattern

The Main Examination has two papers totalling 400 marks. Paper 1 covers Marathi (100 marks) and English (100 marks) at the Class 12 level. Paper 2 covers General Studies and an Intelligence Test (200 marks) at the graduation level. All questions are objective multiple-choice.
