SBI Apprentice Exam Date 2026 Announced

State Bank of India has fixed the online examination for its Apprentice engagement 2026 on 11 July 2026. The single-stage test is the main step in selecting apprentices for 7,150 positions spread across the country. Call letters will be published on the bank career portal shortly before the exam day.

Vacancy Details

A total of 7,150 apprentice positions have been notified across 34 states and union territories. The engagement is made under the Apprentices Act, 1961 and is a fixed training arrangement, not a regular bank job.

Eligibility

Age: 20 to 28 years as on 01-04-2026.

Age relaxation (upper limit): - SC / ST: 5 years - OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years - PwBD (General): 10 years - PwBD (SC/ST): 13 years - PwBD (OBC): 15 years

Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognised university or institute.

Selection Process

Selection is based on a single online objective test followed by a local language test.

Exam pattern: 100 multiple-choice questions for 100 marks, total duration 1 hour, arranged in 4 sections of 15 minutes each. Questions appear in both English and Hindi. There is a penalty of one-fourth mark for every wrong answer; no marks are cut for unattempted questions.

Local Language Test: Shortlisted candidates must prove they can read, write and speak the official language of the state or union territory they applied for. Candidates who studied that language at Class 10 or 12 level are exempt.

Stipend: Selected apprentices receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 15,000. The apprenticeship lasts one year, with no promise of a permanent job afterwards.
