UPSC Recruitment 2026 (Advt No. 07/2026) — 54 Posts Including Drug Inspector

Total Posts: 54 distinct posts across multiple central government ministries and departments. The posts are specialist and technical in nature, spanning engineering, law, medicine, archaeology, photography and administration. Examples include Drug Inspector (CDSCO, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare), Aeronautical Officer and Legal Officer (DGCA, Ministry of Civil Aviation), Company Prosecutor (Ministry of Corporate Affairs), Deputy Superintending Archaeologist (ASI), and Specialist Grade III Assistant Professor posts in various medical specialities. Each post has its own vacancy number, reservation position and eligibility — please refer to the official notification for the post-wise details.

Educational Qualification: Eligibility varies significantly by post, as these are specialist and technical positions. Each post specifies its own essential educational qualification and experience requirement (for example, a Master's or Bachelor's degree in the relevant field plus a fixed number of years of relevant experience). Candidates must read the post-wise eligibility in the official notification carefully.

Nationality: Candidate must be an Indian citizen.

Age Limit: Age limits differ by post and are reckoned as on the closing date (17-07-2026). Age relaxation: OBC 3 years, SC/ST 5 years, PwBD an additional 10 years (maximum age for PwBD candidates shall not exceed 56 years), and Ex-Servicemen / Central Government servants as per Central Government rules.

The fee can be paid online using Visa / Master / RuPay credit or debit card, UPI, or internet banking. Note: OBC/EWS candidates are NOT exempted (only fee concession is for women, SC, ST and PwBD). The fee once paid is non-refundable.

2. Register and create your One Time Registration (OTR) profile if not already done; keep a government photo ID (Aadhaar / Voter ID / PAN / Passport / Driving Licence) ready.
3. Log in with your credentials.
4. Select Advertisement No. 07/2026 and choose the specific post / vacancy number.
5. Fill in all personal, educational and professional details accurately.
6. Upload the required documents and category certificates as applicable.
7. Pay the application fee of Rs. 25 (exempted for Female / SC / ST / PwBD candidates).
8. Review carefully and submit — applications cannot be withdrawn after submission. Save a printout for future reference.

1. Shortlisting based on the information provided in the online application.
2. Recruitment Test (RT) or Combined Recruitment Test (CRT), if warranted for posts with a large number of applications.
3. Personality Test (Interview).
