Vacancy Details

The number of vacancies will be announced later. All appointments are initially on a temporary basis. Some vacancies are reserved for SC, ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), EWS, PwBD and Meritorious Sportspersons of West Bengal.

Eligibility

  • Qualification: A degree from a recognised University or its equivalent.
  • Ability to read, write and speak Bengali (not required for candidates whose mother tongue is Nepali). Bengali knowledge is tested at the Personality Test for those whose mother tongue is other than Bengali or Nepali.
  • Age (as on 01-01-2024): Not below 20 years and not more than 39 years (born between 02-01-1985 and 01-01-2004). Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST of West Bengal, 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) of West Bengal, and up to 45 years for PwBD candidates.
  • Nationality: Indian citizen.

How to Apply

  2. Register and fill the online application form.
  3. Upload your photograph, signature and required certificates.
  4. Pay the fee online, if applicable, and submit.
  5. Use the edit window (22-05-2026 to 28-05-2026) once if any correction is needed.
  6. Print the application form before the last date of 09-06-2026.

Selection Process

The examination is held in three successive stages: a Preliminary Examination (objective type, a screening test with negative marking), a Final Examination (conventional written), and a Personality Test. The final merit list is based on the Final Examination and Personality Test together; preliminary marks are not counted for final selection.
