Vacancy Details

A total of 19 Assistant Environmental Engineer posts are to be filled in the Telangana Pollution Control Board. Selection is on the basis of state-wide merit, and local reservation does not apply.

Eligibility

Educational Qualification (any one): - Bachelor degree in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Bio-Technology, Mining or Environmental Engineering from a recognised University in India, OR Sections A and B of AMIE (India) Civil Examination. - B.Tech or B.E. in any branch along with a Post Graduate degree in Environmental Engineering from a recognised University, OR Sections A and B of AMIE (India) Civil Examination. - Degrees through Open University or Distance Education must be recognised by UGC, AICTE or the Distance Education Bureau. - The required qualification result must have been declared by the University on or before the notification date, 02 June 2026.

Age Limit (as on 01 July 2026): Minimum 18 years and maximum 44 years. The upper age limit was raised by 10 years from 34 to 44 years. Age relaxations apply as per rules.

Government employees of Central, State, PSU, Corporation or other government sectors must pay the examination fee. Fee is paid online through Net Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card or UPI and is not refundable.

How to Apply

  1. Visit the official website at tgpsc.gov.in.
  2. If applying for the first time, complete the One Time Registration (OTR) to get a TGPSC ID. OTR alone is not an application.
  3. Log in using your TGPSC ID and date of birth, then enter the OTP sent to your registered mobile number.
  4. Verify the details fetched from OTR such as name, date of birth, qualifications, community and category.
  5. Select your preferred examination centre from the available options.
  6. Upload a recent passport-size colour photograph and a scanned signature in the prescribed size.
  7. Pay the fee where applicable, review the details and submit the form.
  8. Save or print a copy of the submitted application for future reference.

Selection Process

Selection is through an objective type written examination held in OMR-based offline mode or computer-based recruitment test mode.

  • Paper I - General Studies and General Abilities: 150 questions, 150 marks, 150 minutes, bilingual (English and Telugu).
  • Paper II - Environmental Engineering: 150 questions, 300 marks, 150 minutes, English only.
  • Total: 450 marks.

Qualifying marks: OC, Sportspersons and EWS 40 percent; BC 35 percent; SC, ST and PwD 30 percent. For tests held in multiple sessions, scores are normalised and results announced on a percentile basis.

Paper I covers General Studies and General Abilities. Paper II covers the concerned subject, Environmental Engineering. Detailed topic-wise scheme is given in the official notification.
